High Falls Flowage
is a popular fishing destination and the Peshtigo River Resort
is ideally located right on the Peshtigo River at the north end
of High Falls Flowage.
The flowage itself
is 1,700 acres, with a maximum depth of about 54 feet. The clear,
cool waters harbor a healthy population of bass, walleye, northern,
muskie, crappie, and other panfish. A map is provided below. |
|
The Flowage has something
for everyone, from pan fish to trophy bass, walleye and muskey.
A popular event sponsored by Peshtigo River Resort is the Annual Spring Walleye Tournament.
 |
Another popular attraction
on High Falls Flowage is the Twin
Bridge Ski Team. Weekly performances take place at the Stephenson
Town Park at Boat Landing #3. |
|
|A vast majority of
the land surrounding High Falls Flowage is home of the newly
established Peshtigo River State Forest, and its shoreline is
mostly wild with only a handful of privately held lands. The
forested shores, rock outcroppings, and stained water remind
one of Canadian waters. |
